Poor Scheduling
just thought that this was funny to post. I’m a part timer as i’m a full time college student only looking to earn a little money on the side. I absolutely hate this job so I’m just working here for “fun” in a way. management is messy, the scheduling person is messy, so it’s funny to get a kick out of the awful environment and trying to make the best out of it. my availability sheet for sunday is 10am-6pm, once again i’ve been scheduled out of my hours, and once again scheduled for “illegal” hours 😭 debating if at this point i just show up for the hour and a half shift as a joke and leave at 8 on the dot 😭 i have had to fight with management to emphasize my education is my priority when i started college when they thought i should be scheduled 25-30hr weeks. ever since then, feels like they’ve been fucking with me, messing up my schedule and never listening to me when i say i only want to work a minimum amount of hours due to my heavy course load for college.
I feel it’s also important to note they have done this multiple times to me. They either give me too short of shifts or prolong my shifts (without letting me know in advance at all).
Should I just kiss this job goodbye like I’ve been contemplating? Or speak to the district? I couldn’t speak to the actual manager as I know it wouldn’t remain confidential and it will become a hostile environment with all of the asm’s (except one) having a problem with me.
